Art
After learning about tessellating shapes in geometry, Wynn created this motif (pictured right). His artwork was inspired by M.C. Escher the "father" of modern tessellation art who created several works of art during the 1930s that used tessellations. Wynn's artwork was created using one tessellated shape. He cut it from one 3-inch post-it note, then drew a 3-inch by 3-inch grid in which to copy his tessellation. He wasn't sure what he was going to see when he was done. Would it be a house? A rocket? A mountain. In the end, Wynn said, "All I keep seeing the most are pant legs".

Wynn likes to follow on-line art tutorials, and chooses to do so during some of his free time. Here he is learning how to draw an acoustic guitar.
Music
A note from Wynn's music instructor:
Wynn meets all expectations in guitar/drum class. He's made some great progress this quarter in paying attention to detail and musical development. I've specifically noticed him tracking with chord changes more consistently as the group plays through songs and on drums he's been gaining awareness of rhythm and tempo... locking on with the group and also pausing to restart if he gets off. These are both evidence of personal growth for him. He's previously done a good job of remembering chord forms on the guitar. Now, I'm excited to see his awareness of pitch & rhythm growing significantly. He continues to be an enthusiastic participant.
As an additional aside, Wynn has been gaining introductory understanding of the sound board. He will also be introduced to video projection of lyrics using iOS system built around a professional software packaged called, "Onsong."
