Reader's Theater
For this quarter's reader's theater performance, Wynn performed a silhouette puppet play of King Midas (his unique version of the myth); played Zeus in a reading of Pandora's Box; and read a myth he co-wrote entitled, "The Barfing Dragon: How Volcanoes Came to Be".

During quarters one and two, Wynn studied about ancient Greece and studied several Greek myths. After reading the myth Echo and Narcissus, Wynn described what he thought the theme was and supported this with evidence from the text. This partially meets the following I can statement:
I can determine a theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text, including how characters in a story or drama respond to challenges or how the speaker in a poem reflects upon a topic.

Writing a Biography: Fact vs. Opinion
Wynn wrote a biography about country-rock drummer Ben Sims. In the planning process, Wynn orally demonstrated his understanding of fact versus opinion. This project also met a few technology requirements: media awareness (determining legitimate and safe websites), copying, pasting, and uploading photographs.
I Can Statements:
I can compare facts to opinions and demonstrate my understanding of these differences in my writing.
I can write an informative text using the five W’s (who, what, when, where, and why) as a guide.

Guided Reading
This work sample crosses curriculum as it also meets I can statements in social science, too. This is an informal reading assessment (IRA) of The Kitchen Knight: A Tale of King Arthur, a story Wynn read for a unit he is working through, "Stories of Europe". It is leveled 4.9.
Rotten, a book about decomposers by Anita Sanchez -- Below is an IRA (informal reading assessment) of an information text Wynn read this quarter. This work sample crosses curriculum as it was used for guided reading purposes as well as being a part of our life science curriculum.
